Design That Supports The Way You Live

Our Story - "Wellness by Design"

Mark and Samantha Redman

At Lightpoint Designs, we believe your home should do more than look beautiful - it should support your well-being.

Our “Wellness by Design” philosophy blends thoughtful aesthetics with functionality, safety, and comfort for every stage of life.

Founded by Mark and Samantha Redman, our firm combines over 35 years of experience in construction, design, and wellness.

We’re both proud to be NKBA Certified Kitchen and Bath Designers. Mark is a Certified Living in Place Professional (CLIPP), and Sam is a Certified Wellness Within Your Walls Professional and a Certified Health & Wellness Coach, allowing us to approach every project through the lens of comfort, accessibility, and health.

Whether we’re creating a serene spa bathroom, a chef-inspired kitchen, or a home that adapts gracefully over time, every detail is designed to enhance how you feel and function in your space.

Certified Kitchen & Bath Designer

Certified Living in Place Professional

Licensed Contractor

Mark began his remodeling career during his college years while studying Civil Engineering. In 1992, he established his own remodeling company, which flourished into a distinguished, award-winning Design/Build firm.

Mark extended his expertise to coaching and consulting with fellow contractors. His valuable insights and guidance led him to contribute to the success of various construction professionals.

In 2017, he and his wife, Sam, founded Lightpoint Design & Cabinetry. In January 2021, they acquired Mauck Construction, a company Mark had previously consulted with, and rebranded it as Lightpoint Design & Renovations. Consequently, the two entities merged, giving rise to Lightpoint Designs.

With over three decades of hands-on experience in design and construction, Mark brings a rare blend of creativity and practical expertise. His work seamlessly bridges the gap between visionary design and flawless execution, ensuring every project is both functional and beautiful.

As a certified Kitchen & Bath Designer and Living in Place Professional, Mark helps clients plan for today and tomorrow—creating spaces that are safe, accessible, and built to last.

"Great design isn’t just what you see - it’s how it works for you every day." Mark Redman

Sam is originally from Manchester, England, where she studied Business and Finance while also qualifying as an ACE-certified fitness and ballroom dance instructor.

Sam moved to the United States in 1993, and in 2006, she ventured back into the world of dance, co-founding Studio Dans, LLC. The studio rapidly established itself as one of the leading dance studios in central Maryland.

Sam has always had a passion for design and an eye for detail, lending her talents to her husband’s remodeling company. Following the sale of the dance studio, she began working with Mark full-time.

Sam merges design excellence with a deep understanding of health and wellness. Her passion for creating healthier, happier homes is rooted in her belief that design affects how we live, breathe, and connect.

From material selection to lighting and flow, she helps clients make choices that promote both beauty and well-being.
